Iro's Inspired "Chanel" Jacket Definitely Works!

Now that fall is here, it's time to buy your Chanel Jacket or is it? For many of us who do not want to spend $5000 and up, Singer22 is featuring the Iro Jacket. Mulberry's Inspired "Proenza" is Eh!

Hey Mulberry, nothing like copying Proenza Schouler's Satchel (on the right) which I think is much more streamline, sophisticated and cool. The Mulberry version (on the left) is clumsy looking and the silver buckles are too big for the bag. I'm not thrilled with the feel of the large bumpy leather. Mulberry has such great bags, not sure why they needed to duplicate a version of an already fabulous bag by someone else. They also used the same buckles that are featured on Hermes' latest flat link silver bracelet and it looks so much better on the bracelet! Not so much originality here... My feelings are if you make your own great bags...why not continue to do so rather than make a so-so copy.
Mulberry's Eggplant Satchel features two tone lambskin leather, a detachable and adjustable leather strap, one plaited top handle and belt strap/buckle detailing. September is Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month.Thyroid Cancer is the most common Endocrine Cancer. Thyroid Cancer is now the 5th most Common Cancer in Women and known to be much more PREVALENT in Women than Men. When diagnosed early most types of Thyroid Cancer have a very good prognosis.

Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association Encourages Women to Learn About Thyroid Cancer and to Ask Your Doctor for a Neck Check. This can be done very quickly.The message for Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month is "Find It Early".

Early Detection is the Key! This Cancer is often overlooked, slow growing and is on the rise.
The American Cancer Society estimates that Thyroid Cancer is expected to reach a new record of  about 48,020 new cases of thyroid cancer in the U.S. in 2011. Of these new cases, about 36,550 will occur in women and about 11,470 will occur in men. About 1,740 people (980 women and 760 men) will die of thyroid cancer in 2011.

When Detected Early, Most Thyroid Cancer is Treatable! In the early stages of thyroid cancer, many patients do not experience symptoms. As Thyroid Cancer develops, symptoms can include a lump or nodule in the front of the neck, hoarseness or difficulty speaking, swollen lymph nodes, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or a pain in the throat and neck area. I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer five years ago. My thyroid was removed and the surgeon told me most of my thyroid was diseased. My thyroid cancer required Radioactive Iodine Treatment which was administered by a Radiation Oncologist. Every six months I see my Endocrinologist and have a combination of blood tests, physical examination, and or Thyroid ultrasound, Pet scan, CAT scan, lung scan and Radio-Iodine whole body scan. My Thyroid Cancer was detected in a routine gynecology appointment. So, please make sure either your physician or gynecologist CHECKS YOUR NECK. Giambattista Valli Designed for Minnie Mouse?

 

These are totally beyond ridiculous with the 6'' heel and 1 3/4" platforms with the over-sized round toe that flips up. We typically love Giambattista Valli but these are heavy looking and borderline hideous. They look painful, are so pricey and the eyelet cutout design is awful with it's ginormous platform and dainty ankle strap. Maybe they'd look cool on Minnie Mouse but she'd tower over Mickey! We'd pair these platforms with a red and white polka dot dress,  white gloves and a big bow in our hair!
