While all the department store racks may be looking forward to Fall and back-to-school shopping (say it ain't so!), the weather is whistling an entirely different tune. After all, summer is hardly half over, which means shopping for summer must-haves hasn't been completely rendered "old news" just yet. As a result, for the sake of my last-minute spontaneous summer getaway, I'm diggin' up the most chic swim coverups to take any beach-going (or pool-residing) fashionista through the latter half of the season in style! The swim trend on my radar? Slinky animal prints that step up your coverup style from "afterthought" to "I'd-wear-this-anywhere!"
I'll admit it -- I'm often caught just throwing on an old t-shirt and a casual pair of cotton shorts when it comes to covering up on the beach (it's not like I'm wearing them for long, anyway!), but laziness or lack of inspiration should never be an excuse! From floaty sheer dresses to silky shorts and even slinky jumpsuits, these coverups hardly look like something you'd just "throw on." In fact, if it weren't for the unbearably hot weather that begs for a swim, you probably wouldn't even want to shed these coverups upon arrival!

Although we are die hard RED SOX fans we did scoop a great picture of two New York Yankee wives at the DKNY Store event which took place Thursday, July 22nd. Kim Girardi hosted a private DKNY Fall fashion show/shopping event with a portion of proceeds benefitting her (& Joe Girardi's) charity, Catch 25. Twenty five of the wives, fiance's & girlfriends of the Yankees players gathered to see DKNY's second & third delivery walk the runway. Over $40,000 was generated in under an hour with 10% of the evening's sales going back to Catch 25.
