Now they’re popping up on bags to boot, serving as more than just a functional closure to make sure all your valuables don’t spill out! Parallel patterns, asymmetrical zig-zags, extra zippy pockets, and more — zipper-embellished bags add some extra shine in a way that’s much more subtle and fashion-forward than the usual studs or rhinestones. While they’re not all of the zippers are functional exactly, they add visual interest and introduce zippers as more than just hardware!
Specifically, I adore the simplicity of the Matt + Nat Hendrix Bag. It almost looks like a zippy leather envelope, letting the zippers themselves speak for the bag’s slightly edgy vibe. I also love the vertical gold zippers that had some shimmer to the otherwise matte Michael Kors Moxley tote. The parallel zippers provide an almost slimming illusion, as if I could stuff it full of summer must-haves and it would still look sleek and slim at my side! Wishful thinking, I’m sure.
