It's so great to have Maggie working with Trickle Up. The necklace is truly beautiful and it's nice to wear a piece of jewelry that has meaning behind it: the necklace features a globe to symbolize those being helped around the world, a seed to represent the seed capital participants receive to start a business, and a person with arms up to symbolize empowerment. It's a great gift for those who love fashion and making a difference in the lives of others. Maggie's commitment to the project reinforces how amazing and multifaceted she is! Thanks Betsy for posting about this wonderful story!

Betsy, thanks for helping us reach people in need!

I think what makes this so special is that the cost of the necklace - $100 - is equal to the size of the business microgrant given to a very poor person, and that 100% of your donation goes to the individual you are helping, according to Trickle Up. To us, it is just the cost of one necklace. To that woman living in extreme poverty, it is enough start up capital to get a business off the ground and take the first steps out of poverty.

I visited the website and ordered one for my daughter.

What a great idea... I'm going to buy one for me and one for my Mom,
and help other women at the same time... It doesn't get better than that!
