WHAT CHOOS TO WEAR FOR GRADUATION

This past weekend was my daughter's college graduation.(She's the blonde in the pic!!)

There are so many graduations this coming month and choosing a shoe is important. I kept wondering what Choos to wear to the big event, knowing full well there would be many hills and long walks from one end of the campus to the other. I also knew that I could not embarrass my daughter. I had the outfit picked but the shoes were now the problem. I went through my closet opening shoe boxes, searching for the perfect shoe. I looked at heels, sandals, platforms, mules, slides, even sneakers, knowing my daughter would be mortified if I wore those. How can I walk, please her, and be comfortable? I even contemplated UGGs. Alas, I found the perfect shoes. My Lanvin ballet flats, slightly metallic. They were very comfortable, chic and very worn in.

Comfort was first and foremost. We arrived at graduation. I saw every shoe imaginable from the Birkinstock to the Stiletto. Every color shoe was represented under the tent. I saw my daughter standing there in her cap and gown. She looked amazing. Then I looked down at her feet and saw my missing pony Louboutin's with the leopard spots. I thought to myself when did you take those from my closet, are you comfortable in them, and are you really going to receive your diploma wearing those on stage? She looked very pleased with her decision.Who was I to object? As I was about to say "what are you wearing",

I realized everybody has their own level of comfort. Most importantly, it is not the shoes you wear but how you walk in those shoes everyday, who you are and how you can make a difference. From personal experience, my ballet flats did the trick. They were comfortable, looked great and I made it up the hill with ease. My daughter was happy with her choice,my choice, and we know she will walk proudly in whatever CHOOS she wears!
